As companies across industries work hard to shrink their impact on the environment and promote corporate responsibility, innovative solutions are emerging to address these challenges. One solution making waves is OnHand, and here’s how it’s helping En Route.
Reducing Environmental ImpactÂ
En Route recognises the importance of being kind to the planet, and OnHand plays a significant role in this endeavour by offering fun challenges, talks and volunteering opportunities. Through the OnHand platform, team members can participate in initiatives such as community clean-up events and tree planting, all to make our world cleaner and greener.
Promoting Ethical Sourcing
OnHand supports Ethical sourcing by connecting En Route employees with local community projects focused on sustainable farming and fair trade. Employees get a firsthand peek at why ethical sourcing matters and how it helps both people and the planet.
Engaging Employees in Sustainability Initiatives
OnHand gives employees a platform to turn their love for the environment into action, from beach clean-ups to recycling campaigns, encouraging social responsibility both at work and in the community.
Leveraging Technology for Impact
OnHand leverages cutting-edge tech to manage volunteers, track impact, and boost transparency and accountability throughout the company, making sustainability efforts smoother and more efficient.
Building a Sustainable Future Together
As En Route continues its journey towards sustainability, OnHand is the trusty sidekick in this adventure, inspiring positive changes within and beyond the company. Let’s hear directly from those who have experienced the impact of our initiatives:
Nicole Strachan – Development Manager
Nicole volunteers for a charity called Re-engage. Re-engage provides outings for the elderly who live alone or are otherwise isolated. Nicole is part of the rota for a local group who open their home up for a couple of hours to provide afternoon tea. Nicole has been doing this for 9 years now and loves baking, cooking, and meeting so many lovely people and finding more about their lives.  On one occasion, Nicole also got her local Brownie group involved and there was a lot of laughter and interaction between the age groups which was great to see. One lady told Nicole it was the highlight of her month – the food is one thing and always appreciated and enjoyed, but it’s the interaction and friendships made which really make the difference.
Rebecca Handford – Marketing Manager
Rebecca volunteers for her daughter’s old pre-school which is a charity-run childcare setting. She volunteered as part of the Committee as Treasurer, and when that came to an end after a 2-year stint, she stayed on as a member of the Fundraising Committee. They meet once a quarter to discuss events, responsibilities and to generate ideas on how they can raise funds for the preschool. Rebecca lives in a small village, but the preschool has been running for so long that people who went there as a child are now sending their own children there, so it has a lot of support locally. In the past, Rebecca has helped with the marketing and promotion of events such as a wreath making workshop at Christmas and helped out as a chaperone at an end of term trip to a petting zoo.
