En Route Unwrapped: A Taste of 2024

En Route, it's time to unwrap out year
As the year draws to a close, we’ve started to reflect on the meals, snacks, and flavours that took to the skies over the past 12 months. From snacks to sandwiches, water to waffles, we’ve delivered satisfaction worldwide in 2024From beloved classics to indulgent treats, here’s a look at the tastes that defined a delicious year for En Route.
Delivering Flavours Across the Globe

In 2024, we reached new heights – literally and figuratively. Our global airline and catering partners placed over 16,000 individual orders with us across 26 countries. This ensured that passengers from all corners of the world could enjoy their journeys with something special to savour.  Whether it was a buttery croissant, a comforting baked snack, or an invigorating juice shot, our offerings made travel more memorable and enjoyable.

Speaking of crowd favourites, our top five most popular products worldwide deserve a moment in the spotlight: baked snacks, bread, water, cheese, and viennoiserie. These staples, loved for their versatility and quality, were true global stars.

A Closer Look at Regional Tastes

While global favourites made waves, each region had its own unique preferences that shone through.

UK & Europe: A Love for Tradition

In the UK and across Europe, Jacob’s Table Crackers really took the biscuit. We supplied over 25 million packets (or 50 million individual crackers, given they come in duo packs!) This classic snack was followed by a similarly traditional champion – Vanilla Clotted Cream Ice Cream – which earned the crown as our top ice cream flavour of the year.

When it came to broader product categories, bread and baked snacks emerged as the most sought-after, proving that simplicity and quality are a winning combination.

United States: Bread on Top

Across the Atlantic, bread dominated for 2024. Whether it was fresh rolls or hearty loaves, this versatile staple led the charge in the US. It was closely followed by baked snacks, confectionery, beverages, and viennoiserie, rounding out a year of diverse, crowd-pleasing options.

Australia: Hot and Toasty

Down under, Aussies leaned into comforting flavours, with the Cheese & Ham Toastie taking the title of most popular sandwich. Toasties and paninis were the undeniable MVPs of the year, offering passengers a warm and satisfying bite on the go.

United Arab Emirates: Luxury in the Skies

In the UAE, indulgence was the name of the game. Emirates’ First and Business Class passengers proved to be big fans of our premium cheese programme, which brought an air of sophistication to the skies. There’s no doubt that in this region, elegance and quality reign supreme.

As we wrap up the year, we want to thank our incredible colleagues, customers, and suppliers for making 2024 one for the books. From crackers to croissants, cookies to cakes, it’s been a joy to deliver a taste of home, no matter where in the world passengers were heading.
