Job Purpose

To support the Supply Chain department in performing the day to day tasks of the Logistics and Stock Control team. Ensuring the efficient and cost-effective fulfilment of all Customer and Supplier requirements, while maintaining very high levels of stock accuracy

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with nominated 3PL’s to ensure pick accuracy and on time deliveries to all customers
  • Arrange import/export documentation, coordinating with our freight agents and 3PL’s to ensure compliance and smooth movement of goods
  • Coordinate arrangement of air and sea freight transportation across Europe & Middle East, including placing of Purchase Orders, communication of schedules, resolution of any issues and engagement with supplier, freight agent and customer accordingly
  • Provide high levels of stock control with timely and accurate transaction processing and frequent reconciliation. Ensure all inventory issues are identified, captured, notified appropriately and fixed quickly.
  • Manage the disposal of excess and obsolete stock, ensuring the best possible return wherever possible.
  • Work to maximise vehicle utilization and minimize freight costs wherever possible
  • Ensure the accurate capture of all logistics issues to ensure we can accurately measure the service our customers receive.
  • Look for opportunities to mitigate costs, do things more efficiently and anticipate issues that may arise in future, communicating these to relevant stakeholders
  • Undertake any further duties which may from time to time be assigned

Person Specification

 

  • Supply Chain, Logistics or Distribution experience
  • Stock/Inventory Management
  • Basic Import/Export experience preferred but not essential

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience of Microsoft Business Central preferred but not essential
  • Intermediate IT skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Navision/Business Central/SAP etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workload, multitask and work to deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with multiple stakeholders
  • Flexible to take on extra and varied tasks when required
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
  • Proactive and quick thinking in solving problems
  • Have a positive attitude with a strong passion for what you do
