Job Purpose
To lead and manage the Supply Chain Logistics and Stock Control team, ensuring on time and in full delivery to our customers while controlling costs through excellent day-to-day management of our third-party logistics partners and exceptional stock control.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Supply Chain Logistics and Stock Control team, working closely with nominated 3PL’s to ensure accurate and on time deliveries to all customers.
Undertake any other duties which may from time to time be assigned
Ensure a high standard of conduct and leadership by being a role model and setting the example for others to follow. Flexible, with a can-do attitude, towards all aspects of the role
Actively coach, develop and multi-skill members of the Logistics and Stock Control team, the wider business and supplier partners as required to maximise productivity and effectiveness
Identify the most cost-effective distribution methods for new and existing business globally and ensure the correct paperwork and procedures are in place to deliver to final destination on time and in full
Identify opportunities to mitigate costs, do things more efficiently and anticipate any issues that may arise in the future, communicating these to the relevant stakeholders and working to implement them
Manage the disposal of excess and obsolete stock, ensuring the best possible return wherever possible.
Provide high levels of stock control with timely and accurate transaction processing and frequent reconciliation. Ensure all inventory issues are identified, captured, notified appropriately and fixed quickly.
Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and third-party service providers, working with them to build capability, efficiency and reliability, measuring them versus KPI and service level agreements to ensure best practice is clear and adhered to
- Provide subject matter expertise in import/export documentation, ensuring clear and appropriate processes for the team to work with our freight agents and 3PL’s to ensure compliance and smooth movement of goods

Person Specification
- Supply Chain, Logistics or Distribution experience
- Stock/Inventory Management
- Basic Import/Export experience preferred but not essential
- Experience of managing a team
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience of Microsoft Business Central preferred but not essential
- Intermediate IT skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- Experience working with ERP systems (Navision/Business Central/SAP etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise workload, multitask and work to deadlines
- Ability to work on own initiative and with multiple stakeholders
- Flexible to take on extra and varied tasks when required
- Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
