We’re back from The World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) in Hamburg – and what a week it was!
Over three packed days, the En Route team hit the ground running – connecting with airline partners, industry experts, and suppliers from across the globe. From debuting our new cheese pairings at the dnata cocktail event, to catching inspiring demos at the Taste of Travel Theatre, there was never a dull moment. We met some incredible new businesses, discovered fresh innovations, and even crossed paths with Sunny the Capri Sun mascot – a definite crowd favourite. With samples galore and creativity at every turn, our Notebooks (and taste buds) are bursting with ideas.
Taking Off in Style
From the stand to the stage, En Route was out in full force. Whether you caught us at the Taste of Travel Theatre where you may have been stopped in your tracks witnessing our NPD team showcase some of our elevated offerings or popped by our stand for a warm welcome (and even warmer samples), every moment reflected what we’re all about: insight-led innovation, culinary creativity, and a whole lot of passion.
Taste of Travel: We Brought the Flavour
One of our biggest highlights? Our very own En Route Taste of Travel Showcase.
Led by the UK NPD dream team – Nicole Strachan (Head of Category, Bakery), Sinead Ferguson (Food Development Manager), and Georgina Mogridge (Head of Category Development) – the session was a live celebration of how thoughtful design and culinary flair can elevate the everyday. From artisan breads to indulgent snacking moments, we showed just how elevated onboard dining can be when insight meets innovation.
Also taking the stage was our Managing Director, Nick Wiley, who joined a brilliant panel discussion on Innovation vs. Best Price. It was a powerful conversation around delivering value without compromising experience – something that sits at the very heart of what we do.
Says Nick, “WTCE is always a proud moment for En Route. It was wonderful to see our team come together and perform so admirably throughout the exhibition. From the En Route Showcase to the cheese and cocktail networking event, everyone truly showed En Route at its best. Moving forward, it’s crucial that we capitalise on the momentum generated by WTCE, as we continue to build on this success and aim even higher.”
Stand 1F30: Big Smiles, Bold Ideas
Back at the stand, we welcomed visitors with cabin-led displays, interactive packaging demonstrations, and a warm welcome that really helped bring the En Route story to life. The displays were expertly led by our NPD team, supported by eye-catching packaging concepts that had been worked up by our Creative team. Behind the scenes, Alice Harvey (Brand Executive, UK) captured the buzz across our social channels and internal comms, making sure the energy of the event reached far beyond the show floor.
A Win to Celebrate
We were proud to be recognised at the Onboard Hospitality Awards 2025, where our 100% natural cold-pressed juices took home the award for Best Onboard Beverage: Non-Alcoholic. This recognition is a testament to our ongoing commitment to delivering products that balance great taste with health-conscious innovation and sustainable practices. Congratulations to the entire team for bringing this exceptional range to life.
