After a wonderful 2025 which saw the launch of some of En Route’s brand new passenger solutions, we were delighted to hear that two of them had been nominated for the OBH Awards 2026.
This year, our Warm Cookie Box and TUI Croquettes have been nominated in the Onboard Snacks – Full-Service Economy category at this year’s OBH Awards. The winners will be announced at the Onboard Hospitality Awards, which takes place on the first day of WTCE in Hamburg, on Tuesday, 14th April.
Warm Cookie Box
En Route’s Warm Cookie Box launched onboard with Emirates in August 2025.
Designed as a second service offering on long-haul Economy routes, the solution is presented in a dual layered box, (eight per layer, sixteen per box), and was engineered specifically to fit the carrier’s ovens and allow the product to be served warm.
To ensure the cookies retained their integrity during the heating cycle required extensive trials across multiple airline ovens to replicate the onboard environment.
Both the Warm Cookie Box outer packaging, and the individual Belgian Dark Chocolate Chunk packaging were developed in-house by En Route to meet complex functional and brand requirements
TUI Croquettes:
In May 2024 we were approached by TUI with a request for Dutch Krokets that could be served onboard their flights.
En Route sourced an initial solution for sampling which met many of TUI’s requirements. Following data-driven insights, the final product was renamed ‘Croquettes’ as it was felt that this had a wider appeal amongst European passengers.
The outcome was a pre-fried minced beef snack with an aroma of tomato, meat and fried bread, breadcrumb-coated, frozen and approved for launch on TUI flights departing the Netherlands from May 2025.
Our TUI Croquettes are supplied frozen in an ovenable box containing 4 x 30g croquettes, with a 12-month shelf life. They are also Halal suitable.
The design, created by En Route using an own-brand treatment, aims to engage passengers with a lively and fresh aesthetic. A playful illustration, striking background colour and modern typography were all chosen to support visibility and drive purchase, particularly within the inflight literature.
They were originally launched onboard for six months, but after significant uplift for TUI they were relisted for Winter 25/26 with the possibility of extending this further.
